Miss Teen Intercontinental 2023: Veronique Van der Merwe of South Africa

Veroniqué became the first South African woman to win the world title

The 2023 Miss Teen Intercontinental pageant took place from November 11 to 15 in the city of Guayaquil, Ecuador, also called the “Pearl of the Pacific”, and was hosted by Rodrigo Moreira, who returned to the international stage opening the show accompanied by the 22 talented and ambitious delegates from all over the world in the 50th anniversary celebration.

Right before Veroniqué Van der Merwe as the winner was announced, the show added a segment to let each contestant share her closing statement and it was also announced that Miss Teen Intercontinental South Africa was the winner of the 2023 National Costume competition held in the city of Milagro, Ecuador.

The internationally-recognized Miss Teen Intercontinental Pageant which began in 1973 as a tourism event, celebrated its fantastic 50th anniversary in 2023.

Miss Teen Intercontinental Ecuador, 19-year-old Ashlee Mariscal took first runner-up in the international competition.
