The world contest celebrated its 5th Edition and has crowned a black woman for the first time.
Ecuadorian Frany Delgado, 19, a Chemical Engineering student, bested all contestants at the world final of “Miss Teen Supranational” to the applause of a hometown crowd at the luxury Oro Verde hotel and which was stream live from Guayaquil city on October 19, 2022.
Second place went to Miss Teen Mexico, Sarai Becerra, while Sharlemys T Martis from Curaçao, was in third place.
Frany Delgado, the first Ecuadorian and the first black woman to win as Miss Teen Supranational, said on her Instagram account: Thank you very much for being part of this project, for giving me your trust and giving me all the necessary support to achieve this goal.
The Miss Teen Supranational pageant was broadcast on YouTube channel, featured different activities in Ecuador, host country and presentations such as the already traditional parade in typical costumes, followed by the opening, swimsuit and evening dress.
Frany Delgado, representative of Ecuador also won the award for Best International Typical Costume, that was made by the ecuadorian designer Benyamin Maffare, who is also a member of the team of designers of the Miss Universe Ecuador organization.
Delgado succeeds Miss Teen Supranational 2021 Kate Mayta del Rio from Peru.
