Lorena Ruiz Sánchez was crowned Miss Teen Supranational 2023 at an exciting gala held in Guayaquil, Ecuador. The Spanish representative competed alongside twenty other candidates from various countries around the world. Lorena Ruiz impressed the judges and the public during the different stages of the contest, showing off her elegance and beauty. Veroniqué became the first South African woman to win the world title

The 2023 Miss Teen Intercontinental pageant took place from November 11 to 15 in the city of Guayaquil, Ecuador, also called the “Pearl of the Pacific”, and was hosted by Rodrigo Moreira, who returned to the international stage opening the show accompanied by the 22 talented and ambitious delegates from all over the world in the 50th anniversary celebration.

Right before Veroniqué Van der Merwe as the winner was announced, the show added a segment to let each contestant share her closing statement and it was also announced that Miss Teen Intercontinental South Africa was the winner of the 2023 National Costume competition held in the city of Milagro, Ecuador.

The internationally-recognized Miss Teen Intercontinental Pageant which began in 1973 as a tourism event, celebrated its fantastic 50th anniversary in 2023.

Miss Teen Intercontinental Ecuador, 19-year-old Ashlee Mariscal took first runner-up in the international competition.

She became the successor to last year’s winner Caesy Rivadeneira from Ecuador.

About 20 teen beauty queens competed for the international title.

The Brazilian Éffora Consoli won the seventh crown for her country on Tuesday night.

Effora Consoli, a 17-year-old model from Santa Catarina, Brazil, beat 20 other contestants to win her country’s seventh international crown at the megaevent held in Guayaquil, Ecuador. She also won the award for Best National Costume at Miss Teen International 2023 in a preliminary contest supported by the authorities and she succeeds last year’s winner Yulienke Jacobs of South Africa.

To date, seven teenage women from Brazil have won the title of Miss Teen International – Ana Carina Gois in 1994, Renata Cavazzana in 1996, Vanessa Martins in 1998, Isabele Sanchez in 2008, Isabella Novaes (former Miss Grand International) in 2014, Julia Hemza in 2018 and Effora Consoli in 2023, becoming the most successful country in the history of the competition.

Rodrigo Moreira, president of the Miss Teen International Organization based in Ecuador said that after having obtained all intellectual property rights in Costa Rica and other Latin American countries as Brazil, Chile, Dominican Republic, Mexico, just to mention a few, the history of the pageant and the legacy of Enrique Gonzalez, former Director (from 1993 to 2014), continues.

The 14-year-old beauty based in Sandton became the first-ever South African to win the international title. She succeeded last year’s winner Cherisha Chanda from India.

Anna Hoang of Vietnam was named first runner-up while Anthea Tofani of Indonesia, Anouck van Heerden of the Netherlands, and Phoebe Huang of China were the second, third, and fourth runners-up, respectively.

This year’s competition marked the fifth edition of the Miss Eco Teen pageant.

The new Miss Eco Teen is a talented dancer, model, entrepreneur, and philanthropist. She advocates for youth empowerment and the environment.

The 17-year-old business owner and advocate of Mas Vida foundation from Nayarit, Mexico succeeded last year’s winner from the USA, Morgan Claycomb. She became the second Mexican representative to win the international pageant.

Vanessa Smith of the USA and Carlota Pop of Spain were named the first and second runners-up, respectively.

In addition to the crown, Mariana also bagged the Best in National Costume award wearing the beautiful creation of Mexican designer Paco Gaona.

Her costume called “Arcoíris” means rainbow and was inspired by Guerrero’s low mountain, a state on Mexico’s Pacific coast where the designer came from.

SA’s beauty queen Gugulethu Mayisela becomes the first Black woman to win the Miss Teen World crown in Ecuador.

The 18-year-old Gugulethu Mayisela was crowned as Miss Teen World 2022 on October 19 in the city of Guayaquil, in Ecuador.

Marina Wang, Canada, and Estrella Cisneros, from Mexico, have taken up the first and second runner-up positions respectively.

Before bringing home the Miss Teen World crown, Gugulethu Mayisela, won the title of Miss Teen Earth Air in October last year.

This is South Africa’s 5th crown in the world competition (the previous winners to have won the title were Kaylan Hamel, Miss Teen World 2003, Noele Joubert, Miss Teen World 2004, Charlotte Smith (2005) and Tayla Robinson, who was elected Miss Teen World 2010).

Gugulethu Mayisela, Miss Teen World 2022, joined an impressive roster of black women who won some of the world’s most prestigious teen pageants: Stefany Calero (Curaçao) Miss Teen Intercontinental and Frany Delgado (Ecuador) Miss Teen Supranational.

Mayisela, who is in her final year of high school, said she would like to study accounting science, and be in the fashion industry and strut the runways. “I hope to join Miss South Africa and be crowned Miss Universe one day,” she said.

Contestants discovered Salinas beach, one of the most beautiful tourist destination on the Ecuadorian Pacific Coast

On Monday morning, the 2022 Miss Teen World contestants, national directors and members of the organization traveled to Salinas, the beautiful beach in the province of Santa Elena, transported by AB Tour, the official transport company of the international beauty pageant.

“With the intention of promoting tourism in Salinas and to show the beauty of breathtaking beaches of the ecuadorian coast and traditional culture and gastronomy of local people, we arrange this visit to Salinas beach. We organize a photo session, a yacht ride and rehearsals at the pool of the Colon Salinas hotel, where we have evaluated the physical part of our contestants. At the final event which will be held in October 19 in Guayaquil, we’ll announce the result of best body award,” said Rodrigo Moreira, CEO and Director of the Miss Teen World pageant.

Melissa Núñez, representative from Ecuador, asked the contestants to share images of their visit to boost tourism in the country.
